Exhibition. Soledad Lorenzo Collection
Sergio Prego, Tetsuo, 1998. Video
This exhibition offering, folding out across two shows, sets forth a broad selection of works comprising the temporary loan made by the gallerist Soledad Lorenzo to the Museo Reina Sofía in 2014. The first of them, Meeting Point, deals with concepts of space and geometry from different optics. With its point of departure set through two artists which are at the core of the Soledad Lorenzo Collection — Pablo Palazuelo and Antoni Tàpies — this survey spans in different formats by eminent artists with ties to the gallerist’s career, for instance Soledad Sevilla, Ángeles Marcos and Txomin Badiola, Peio Irazu, Sergio Prego and Jon Mikel Euba. Dates: From September 27 to November 27, 2017 Location: Sabatini Building, Floor 4 Organized by: Museo Reina Sofía Curated by: Manuel Borja-Villel and Salvador Nadales
Exhibition. Doris Salcedo. Palimpsesto
The work of Doris Salcedo (Bogotá, 1958) is deeply rooted in the social and political circumstances of her native Colombia, although she does occasionally address problems in other contexts — a case in point being the project she has devised for the Palacio de Cristal. In Palimpsest, the title of her intervention in the Palacio de Cristal, Salcedo refers to all those who have drowned in the Mediterranean and Atlantic over the past twenty years attempting to emigrate from their countries of origin in search of a better life with greater freedom. Dates: From October 6, 2017 to April 1, 2018 Location: Parque del Retiro, Palacio de Cristal Organized by: Museo Reina Sofía Curated by: Soledad Liaño
