Sociologist Jan Breman, whose research focuses on labour conditions in different international contexts, will hold the upcoming session of the programme Constituent Machines: Constituent Power, Biopolitics, Democracy, organised by the Museo Reina Sofía Study Centre.

Within the framework of the exhibition Colectivo Acciones de Arte (C.A.D.A.), 1979-1985, on display in the Museo’s Library and Documentation Centre, two readings and talks are organised with poets who were either part of or collaborated with C.A.D.A. Since it was founded, this Chilean collective set forth productive dialogue between visual art, literature and sociology, whereby poetics were conceived in both expanded and expansive terms.

The exhibition Colectivo Acciones de Arte (C.A.D.A.), 1979-1985 brings together a broad selection of materials from the Archive and work of C.A.D.A., which have been recently acquired by the Museo through dialogue with the material’s custodians, Lotty Rosenfeld and Diamela Eltit, and via research by Red de Conceptualismos del Sur. C.A.D.A. was a collective set up by visual artists Lotty Rosenfeld and Juan Castillo, the writers Diamela Eltit and Raúl Zurita, and sociologist Fernando Balcells.

Blank Paper Escuela puts forward BookJockey, an experimental format with which to show and enjoy photobooks. It involves a DJ session with contemporary photographic books, displaying and mixing materials to create a narrative which prompts the audience to perceive them differently.

The period of autocracy in Spain presents itself as an abominable decade characterised by the triumphant Francoist aesthetic and ideology on all fronts. This series of lectures, in conjunction with the exhibition Campo Cerrado. Spanish Art 1939–1953, debates and calls into question this acknowledgement through the views of six historians and theorists hailing from different fields of study and different generations.

This film series, organised in conjunction with the exhibition Campo Cerrado. Spanish Art 1939–1953, focuses on post-war Spanish cinema, moving beyond the clichés that have buried it for a number of decades to present a dark yet fascinating filmic and historical labyrinth displaying conflicts, searches and objectives from the main narratives in a melancholy, wounded and confrontational period.
