Paz Muro's investigation is linked to many of the projects that were being carried out in the same period by other Spanish and foreign artists who, starting at the end of the sixties, made nature their main laboratory for experimentation. The use of pictures in her work with the land is an idiosyncratic feature of this artist and speaks of the persistence of her formative beginnings, which established a dialogue with the scientific impulses of the art of the time, and which led her to study the geology, the biology and even the geomorphology of the area to be worked on. In this context, Muro creates Propuesta de transformación de la realidad a partir de un fenómeno natural (Proposal for Transformation of Reality Starting with a Natural Phenomenon, 1972) which would be the most complex and elaborate project related to Land Art that she would execute. The work originally consisted of several Super 8 format films, a set of slides, four fold-out notebooks with photographs and a detailed description of the work proposal and how it would be carried out. The action consisted of spraying plastic paint onto the plants of a country house in Cuenca, using a colour scheme not found naturally in that part of the country. Unlike most of the work of this artist, who showed little interest in recording her performances, on this occasion, all the material was intended to be part of the final work, which marks a major difference with the radically ephemeral nature predominant in her later works.
